What is the clean base Roomba?

The Clean Base is a nice looking home appliance. It sits up against a wall and plugs into an outlet. Instead of the small charging plate of the stock Roomba charger, there’s a large plate for the Roomba to roll on - and an opening in the rear for the bin to empty through.

How do I Clean my iRobot Roomba 500/700?

With just a bit of routine maintenance, you can keep your 500/700 series iRobot Roomba running smoothly. By first vacuuming the tray and filter; then cleaning the side-sweeper, brush, and rubber roller; and finally deep cleaning the underside and motor, you can effectively clean your Roomba, so it can keep cleaning for you. How do I clean the filter on my Roomba?

On the rear of your Roomba there is a tray that fills with dirt and dust as it vacuums (also called the "bin"). Press the button on top of this tray and remove it. Dump the contents of this tray into the trashcan. Remove the filter. You should be able to see a red semi-circle inside the tray (which may be covered with gray dirt and dust).

Why not use a bin with a Roomba?

It defeats some of the convenience of the Roomba. Also, if you have a particularly debris-prone house (pets, small children, lots of dust), the bin can easily fill up midway through a cleaning run, leaving the Roomba either trying to shove more dirt into a full bin, or making you empty the bin out mid-run.
